I come here because it's around the corner from my apartment in the eighty8 apartments on Bridger, and Maryland parkway. I have a pilb card like the Cashier Security guard, you have to pass a written exam, and a Department of Justice Federal Bureau Of Investigation criminal background check. I'm the one everyone calls Uncle Tom.

I have lived near this family market for 8 almost 9 years. At first I was sketched out being new to living downtown as a single female. I have gotten to know everyone in the store and I feel so safe walking to this market. It's the only one we have near us in this neighborhood. Without the staff making us feel welcome and safe we wouldn't have a place to rely on. When covid hit. They were one of the few places we had to go to. I love this place.

If you're doing downtown on a budget, this is the place to come for a sandwich, maybe a pizza, and your various beverages. All we had was a sandwich, but it was great and they have burgers and breakfast Sammie's and burritos too. There's no AC and it's kinda ghetto, but it's the perfect spot to load up on snacks and lunch to take back to your hotel room!

This is a great mini market in the heart of Downtown! I'm from LA, and it reminded me of the local market/deli, back home. I stopped for that very reason. There is plenty of parking behind the store. Or take an Uber or Lyft. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted in a very friendly, welcoming, and hospitable manner by the staff. I was very impressed with the food. I was so impressed, I dug right in, without taking a picture of it. If you're in the downtown area, check them out.

This review is mainly for the sandwich/deli portion. The sandwiches are a very good deal considering the price tag. They're pretty tasty, too. I had the Italian, and the lady making it was very nice. The offer a double meat/double cheese version for like $8, which is a steal. Seriously, you can eat well here for next to nothing. As for other aspects of this market, it's more of a little bodega type place. Basic food stuffs, but nothing fancy or extravagant. Think beer and smokes, and maybe other convenience store type items. A word on the clientele: this place is very often frequented by some of the more colorful residents of Fremont East. You might see a working girl on one of the corners nearby. Just keep your wist about you, especially in the later hours of the night.

Delicious, cheap sub sandwiches! Don't let the looks of this place turn you away. Sure, it looks like a New York bodega, or one of those places in a poor neighborhood where transients buy their beer and cigarettes... which it is, but still... the sub sandwiches here are CHEAP and AMAZING. $5.99-$6.99 gets you a hand made sub and a can of soda; they slice the lunch meat fresh for each sandwich and the bread and toppings are great. The owner made my sandwich one day and was a super friendly guy and said if there's anything the store doesn't carry that I want, tell him. At that moment I didn't have the nerve to say "Almond milk and romaine lettuce" because I didn't want to sound like some East Coast liberal elitist. (Almond milk is great in coffee and I come from a blue collar family, so there). Treat yourself to a great sub today!
